Creating a Community Based Framework to Assess Adaptation Effectiveness
Communities in the Southwest face growing challenges from extreme weather and climate. Adaptation strategies can reduce risks, but their effectiveness varies. Evidence of success, especially from community perspectives, is often missing, creating knowledge gaps about who benefits from adaptation and in what ways.
This project is developing a community-informed framework to evaluate climate adaptation by:
- Identifying local priorities
- Creating a practical evaluation framework
- Exploring what transformational, community-based adaptation looks like in practice
The project will produce an online guidebook, research publications, and webinars to share findings and support more effective adaptation strategies.
