Abstract

The article reports on the predictions by fire behavior analysts, fuel specialists, intelligence personnel, fire meteorologists and climate forecasters, presented at the National Seasonal Assessment: Eastern, Southern and Southwest Geographic Areas Workshop at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia on January 18 to 20, 2006. Experts predicted that high fire potential across the Southern Plains, Texas, the Southwest and portions of Florida will continue through the early summer.
