Abstract
The greater Sonoran ecoregion of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico is distinctive in terms of vegetation, wildlife, landforms, weather, and climate. As the human presence in the region continues to expand, it is becoming increasingly important to understand the complex interactions between those unique features and the people who live among them.
