Tracey Osborne is an assistant professor in the School of Geography and Development. Her research interests include carbon forestry activities, carbon markets, agrarian political economy, development studies, and political ecology. She has a regional interest in Latin America and the Caribbean and has worked extensively in Mexico and Guyana. Tracey received a PhD in 2010 from the Energy and Resources Group at the University of California, Berkeley, where she has researched the politics of sustainable development in a community-based carbon forestry project in Chiapas, Mexico. Tracey has a master’s degree in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida and has worked with a number of environmental NGOs on issues ranging from tropical deforestation to global climate change.
