FEMA: Caught Between Climate Change and Congress

Monday, January 27, 2014

CLIMAS investigator Mike Crimmins discusses the use of climate and weather information by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), insights gained from the CLIMAS project "Climate and Weather Services for Disaster Management: a collaboration between CLIMAS, FEMA and the western regional headquarters of the NOAA-National Weather Service." Crimmins and collaborators have been working with FEMA and the National Weather Service to improve the use of climate and weather information to support FEMA’s hazards monitoring efforts in Arizona, Nevada, and California.
